What you can ride!

Now for the bit you really want to know about….the riding…..

During your stay with us we will cover plenty of mileage, with a real variation of climbs. There is everything from short & steep to long lung-busting Cols made famous by Tour de France stages over the years. The routes take you all over the Rhone Alps area, along quiet back roads and through awesome national parks. Alpine scenery is something you will never forget, but bring your camera anyway.

We use the first few days of your holiday to work on your endurance and gradually build you up. By the latter part of the week you should be ready to take on some epic rides in the high mountains, conquering some of those mystical Cols that your heroes have ridden before you! You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish and the sense of achievement will be immense.

But what if you are a mixed ability group? Alpcycles.com pride themselves on being able to give every rider that comes to stay with us just what they want from their holiday, with a good base/cycling fitness level helping you along the way. Because most of our routes are “loops” we are able to easily lengthen and shorten the rides for different levels of cyclists. The alpcycles.com minibus has strategic pick-up points to rescue those riders with tired legs.

The weeks itinerary is discussed with the group on arrival and, as we all eat together every evening, Ade is always keeping check on the following days riding and how people are feeling.
