Road Cycling Training Camps French Alps 2012

 
The original and always the best, Alpcycles.com introduced these training camps to this part of the Northern Alps, and we continue to deliver an ultimate training week for roadies. Don't miss out. All our Big Cols Camps sell out early every year, so book early to avoid disappointment!!!
Every trip we have run this year has had returning guests on........come and stay and you will see why......

Approximately 600km and 11000m of climbing will be covered during the week and will include varying climbs including those from the Tour de France, past and present. This is not a "long lunch" roadcycling trip!!! The emphassis is about maximising your hours on the bike, improving your performance and helping you achieve your goals for the road season.

Following the success of these weeks over the last 5 years, see the pics on the Gallery pages, we will be running Big Cols Training Camps throughout the season  2012 in both Courchevel and Morzine. These trips are ideal if you are:

Training for Sportives, La Marmotte or the Etape 2012, as climbs from both events are included in the weeks itinerary!!!!
Have a good level of cycling fitness and want to ride some big mileage in the mountains.
Want to improve endurance and build time in the saddle.
Challenge yourself on some of the best cols in the Alps.
Clubs or individuals looking for an awesome training camp for 2012.

Your week with us begins with distances of between 60 – 80 km/4 hours per day in the mountains and will gradually work up to covering 100 – 140 km/6 hours per day, including multiple mountain passes. Both weeks are guaranteed to challenge you and improve your riding and the cols/passes listed below are included in each trip:

The Big Cols Courchevel week will include:

  • Courchevel (21.7km 2000m alt)
  • Col de la Madeleine (26km, 1993m alt)
  • Cormet de Roseland (22.5km, 2012m alt)
  • Col des Aravis (18.9km, 1486m alt)
  • Col des Saisies (15km, 1657m alt)
and one of the main days of the trip and for those guests training for La Marmotte 2012, we head to the Vercours area and ride the famous:
  • Telegraph (12km, 1566m alt)
  • Col du Galibier (18km, 2646m alt)
  • Alpe d’Huez (14.5km, 1850m alt)
And the new Big Cols Morzine week will include the following cols:
  • Col du Colombiere (19km, 1613m alt)
  • Joux Plane (16km, 1691m alt)
  • Morzine Avoriaz (14km, 1829m alt)
  • Col des Aravis (18.9km, 1486m alt)
  • Col de la Ramaz (16km, 1615m alt)
  • Col de Romme

Transfers from/to Geneva airport GVA at specified pick up times (please check before booking flights). Flights not included.
