About alpcycles.com holidays

Our aim at alpcycles.com is to ensure each of our guests have the best time ever here with us in the Alps. Ade, Shelley and the alpcycles.com team are certain that your holiday with us will exceed your expectations………all our past guests have agreed (see the Gallery page) and here is why we think so………………………………….

Ade, your main cycle guide

Ade, your main cycle guide:
During his years on the bike, Ade has successfully raced for the Army Cycling Union team as a road cyclist and at E/1/2 level back in Britain, as well as triathlon and duathlon. He is a roadie through and through with a passion for riding big cols.

He has been living and cycling in this part of the Alps for a few years now and is passionate about every kilometre of tarmac and every Col, whether a legendary Tour de France climb or a local secret. Ade believes that every rider deserves an equal amount of support and motivation to achieve their goals and enjoy their holiday. He works with guests and aims to build your mountain endurance and increase mileage throughout the week, culminating

in some epic days on the bike. Of course, groups are generally mixed, so the guides work hard to get it right and give everyone what they need.

They are always keen to pass on as much information and advice to make your days on the bike as pleasurable as possible, such as tips on alpine descending or fuelling your body for the days ride.

Shelley, the co-ordinator:
Prior to your holiday, Shelley will have already been chatting to you via email, answering your questions and getting a picture of you/your group, as well as dealing with any admin/website/sales/promotions. Whilst you are enjoying your week she could turn up anywhere, from meeting out on rides with refreshments to help you make it home (or a pick-up in the minibus if your legs are tired) to ensuring, alongside the rest of the team that the chalet is homely and afternoon tea laid out for our return.
She loves nothing more than to get everyone around the table for a fantastic home cooked food, a few glasses of vin rouge and a

good chat about the days riding, but don’t think she can’t turn a pedal.

In her previous life she worked in the fitness industry for over ten years and has dabbled in triathlon and running, as well as many other aspects of fitness. After a busy 2007 season, Shelley is keen to get out more often with the cycling groups and also organise a women’s road cycling week in 2008.

The alpcycles.com team:
There will be some new additions joining us in 2008 and rest assured, they will have been hand picked to continue the personal service we offer to you, our guests, whether in the chalet or out on the road.

Chalet

Accommodation and hospitality:
Your home for the week is at the luxury 20 bed Chalet Richard, situated in the hamlet of Le Raffort, nestled in the heart of the Meribel valley. The chalet itself has all the amenities you would expect, plenty of room to relax or catch up with the cycling on Sky TV, but it’s those extras that the alpcycles.com team add that make it

perfect. We work extra hard to make it a cyclist’s heaven and home from home whilst you are with us and we want you to feel part of the family. During your stay with us cycling and enjoying yourself are the only things you should have to think about….everything else is taken care of.

Included in your holiday is:
